In 1939, when my father was 12 years old, he began working at Schneiders Bakery and Ice Cream Parlor on Georgia Avenue in Washington, D.C.

Known for producing the finest ice cream in the city, Eleanor Roosevelt would serve it to her guests at the White House.

Pop wrote down the recipes and kept them for almost 60 years. We use them today in bringing you Pop’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream.
